Living with chronic pain can bring about feelings of hopelessness, trigger emotional distress, cause sleep problems, and interfere with pleasurable activities. In this workshop, we’ll examine some of the causes of persistent pain, how it manifests in the brain, and explore various tools to help alleviate pain symptoms. There will be lecture, mindful movement and breathing, expressive writing, and Q & A. This workshop is appropriate for those who struggle with chronic pain, those treating pain sufferers, and those who love them.

Restorative Yoga

Join me Sunday December 18th for Restorative Yoga at Anasa Yoga in Oakland's Laurel district.

This yoga class is devoted to releasing tension through gentle movements and the use of yoga props to support the body in achieving deep relaxation.

This is a gentle, therapeutic style of yoga that uses props to support the body and deepen the benefits of the poses. It is a soothing and nurturing practice, which promotes conscious relaxation by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. For all levels.
